Hero of the day…

Goes to my Lyft driver Juan! He was fantastic and made the start of a long travel day pretty great. He was on time, kind, and when I got into the car Miles Davis was playing… what a great soundtrack for a 7:30am drive to the airport with my travel mug of coffee. I don’t often chat with the driver, and am usually furiously texting, checking and returning emails or zoning out on social and seeing what is going on in the world news wise. Today was different. Juan and I chatted the whole trip to the airport, he was super engaging and interesting! Like many Lyft is a side hustle, he has worked for Whole Foods for 13 years so of course I had to ask him about the pre//post sale to Amazon and his thoughts on company culture. We chatted about food, travel, dogs and life… I ended the ride by telling him to call his mother. Back in the day Lyft had a feature where you could save a driver or select one from available drivers instead of it selecting for you. I wish the save a driver to favorites feature still existed and maybe they will bring it back, I learned there is a new upstart coming online in the ride share arena that is offering a favorites feature… hey Lyft, are you listening? Anyway, I hope to cross paths with Juan in the future… he was an interested fella and I walked away thinking now he is someone that would be a part of my tribe. Thank you for making the ride to the airport and the start to a long ass travel day quite pleasant and enjoyable.
