Every morning I make a cup of coffee though my routine now looks a lot different. Instead of looking at the news, checking out the crossword in the Times online I look at spreadsheets, online banking and start making phone calls. Trying to navigate insurance approvals, and denials as well as co-pays, appointments and running the life of a whole other human is exhausting. The system sucks and there are no clear answers, except no in the case of medicare. I am six weeks into this version of the elder care odyssey and each time it gets a little bit more taxing. oh, speaking of… filing taxes for an elder is coming up tomorrow.
